Serve as a catalyst for individuals with mental health, developmental disabilities, and addictive disorders to help them realize their full human potential by offering quality, excellent care with greater accessibility.
Northeast Delta Human Services Authority is seeking a Registered Nurse 3 for our Reaching Independence through Support and Recovery (RISE) Treatment Center. The Nurse is expected to provide compassionate, patient-centered care at a treatment center dedicated to pregnant women with substance use disorders and their dependent children. This role involves delivering medical care, supporting maternal and pediatric health, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure clients receive comprehensive treatment.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following:
Two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A bachelor's degree in nursing plus one year of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A master's degree in nursing or public health plus one year of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A doctorate in nursing or public health.

- Work as part of a treatment team to provide quality care and reduce the stigma surrounding integrated care treatment. Observe and assess consumer's total health and make appropriate referrals to community resources and/or care managers. Conduct health assessments for pregnant women and their children, including monitor vital signs, managing prenatal care needs, and performing routine pediatric health checks.
- Interview consumers individually during medication management clinics to include: screening for present symptomatology of diagnosis, vital signs (b/p, pulse, respirations, temperature), BMI calculations (weight and height), and waist circumference. Collect specimens, including urine samples for consumers receiving addictive disorder treatment, for lab testing per NEDHSA policy and procedures appropriate to assigned location.
- Work closely with physicians, counselors, case managers, and other staff to develop and implement individualized care plans for clients. Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring adherence to treatment plans. Review charts and prepare for medication management clinics. Prepare charts with necessary paperwork to include AIMS, informed consent for medications, necessary forms for lab monitoring, reassessment forms, psychiatric update forms, etc.

Compensation: NEDHSA is a designated approved National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site. Clinicians who work at NHSC-approved sites are eligible to apply to the NHSC Loan Repayment Program to pay off student loans.
- 2-year Full-Time Clinical Practice: NHSC will pay up to $50,000* for an initial 2 years of full-time clinical practice to clinicians.
