The Office of Juvenile Justice is seeking a highly skilled and dependable Maintenance Repairer Master to lead and oversee all campus maintenance operations, construction support, and facility upkeep. In this leadership role, you will plan, organize, and direct daily maintenance activities while supervising maintenance staff, coordinating contractors, and ensuring all buildings, grounds, and mechanical systems remain safe, functional, and compliant with state and agency standards.
You will manage a wide range of responsibilities, including preventative and general maintenance, groundskeeping, perimeter security, equipment oversight, and emergency response. This position requires strong technical knowledge across multiple trades, the ability to operate heavy equipment, and the judgment to prioritize maintenance needs in a fast-paced environment. You will also collaborate with project planners and agency leadership on major repairs, construction projects, and Capital Outlay submissions, while ensuring all purchasing, vendor coordination, and documentation processes are handled with accuracy and professionalism.

Your leadership will directly support operational readiness, safety, and the long-term integrity of facility infrastructure.
Three years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR
Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus one year of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR
Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses plus one year of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance.
Job Duties:
As a Maintenance Repairer Master, you will serve as a senior-level expert responsible for leading complex maintenance operations, ensuring the reliability of facility systems, and guiding staff in the execution of advanced repair work. In this role, you will:
- Oversee and direct maintenance, transportation, construction, and support services across all campus buildings, grounds, and infrastructure
- Supervise maintenance staff by assigning work, reviewing performance, and ensuring tasks meet safety and compliance standards
- Maintain all facilities including dorms, administrative and educational buildings, health services, gymnasium, dining areas, mechanical systems, and generators
- Ensure grounds are properly maintained, equipment is operational, and perimeter security (fencing and gates) is intact
- Perform and support skilled maintenance work including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and operation of heavy equipment
- Monitor and train staff on energy management systems; ensure compliance with maintenance standards, safety codes, and required trainings
- Coordinate and oversee vendors and contractors to ensure quality work and adherence to policies and safety expectations
- Manage purchasing activities and assist with property control of movable equipment while ensuring compliance with regulations
- Collaborate on major repairs, construction projects, and capital planning; develop scopes of work and support facility improvement initiatives
- Respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis, prioritize maintenance needs, support inspections and audits, and maintain critical systems such as water and sewer infrastructure
