Job Focus Area
This Contracts Grants/Grants Reviewer position reports to a CGR Supervisor in the division of Grants Management. The Contract/Grants Reviewer manages funding awarded by the LDOE, including federal and state funds. This position is responsible for supporting professional work of a technical, varied, and complex nature, involving grants management, specialized budget development/preparation, review, control, monitoring, and analysis and reporting relative to the sub-grantee assistance appropriation.
AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:
Three years of experience in contracts or grants management, procurement, financial management, or accounting; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor’s degree.
Experience Substitution:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Appointment Type: Job Appointment. This position will be filled as a temporary job appointment that may last up to 4 years. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office.
Work Location: The person hired for this position is expected to report to the Baton Rouge office as requested.
Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as an Contracts/Grants Reviewer 2 or 3, depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.
Work Schedule: Workdays' are Monday - Friday; work hours will be determined.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The pay ranges for each level are as follows:
Contracts/Grants Reviewer 2 (AS-613)
Hourly: $18.04 – $35.40
Monthly: $3,127.00 – $6,136.00
Annually: $37,523.00 – $73,632.00
Contracts/Grants Reviewer 3 (AS-615)
Hourly: $20.65 – $40.53
Monthly: $3,579.00 – $7,025.00
Annually: $42,952.00 – $84,302.00

- Experience maintaining a centralized hub of grants information, including resources related to the grant development process and tracking deadlines applicable to grants awarded by the agency.
- Experience working with administrators, officials, and other personnel to resolve grants-related issues and facilitate coordination across offices.
- Experience maintaining records and preparing reports and/or correspondence related to contracts and/or grants.
- Experience conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure newly developed applications operate as intended and meet programmatic and compliance requirements.
- Experience providing technical assistance to program staff related to grant application development and maintenance.
- Experience providing ongoing technical assistance and consultation to LEAs, sub-grantees, agency personnel, and other helpdesk users regarding grant applications and program issues.
- Experience researching issues related to grants management and advising appropriate parties on relevant regulations, guidelines, and policies.
- Familiarity with educational programs in the K–12 domain.
- Knowledge of federal grants and applicable requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace tools.
- Experience maintaining and tracking data.
- Strong communication skills.
