Compensation:
Hourly Pay Range: $17.39 – $20.13/hour
TEMPORARY additional differential of $2.50/hr for all hours worked.

Osawatomie State Hospital is licensed by the State of Kansas to provide care and treatment for adults diagnosed with psychiatric disorders regardless of ability to pay. There are currently two hospitals on the Osawatomie campus in Miami county: Osawatomie State Hospital (OSH) and Adair Acute Care (AAC). Adair Acute Care are a 60-bed facility, certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Position is located at Osawatomie State Hospital, days/hours may vary. This position may require you to work weekends.
All employees are expected to work in a harmonious and cooperative fashion with other staff to provide efficient and effective customer service: to use free time as available to assist other staff in the completion of work assignments and perform other tasks as needed; to contribute to a positive work environment through a positive, helpful, courteous demeanor towards staff, customers and the general public; and to adhere to appropriate standards of conduct regarding the use of leave, reports to work on time and in the designated fashion.
The purpose of the Senior Administrative Specialist position is to provide high-level administrative and organizational support to Health Information Management (HIM) Leadership. This position assists with coordinating daily operations, managing schedules, preparing reports, and maintaining records related to HIM systems and compliance. The role requires strict adherence to confidentiality and privacy standards, as the Specialist will be privy to Protected Health Information (PHI) and other sensitive patient data. The Senior Administrative Specialist ensures that all duties are performed in compliance with HIPAA regulations, hospital policies, and applicable federal and state guidelines, while supporting the HIM Systems Coordinator in advancing the hospital's information management objectives.
The essential functions of this position may require physical strength to frequently push, pull, twist, bend, squat, walk, stand for extended periods of time, lift and/or restrain residents with or without assistance and respond to aggressive resident behavior with specific, trained techniques. Be able to observe and respond to residents in distress.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Scheduling meetings, preparing correspondence, and maintaining departmental communications
- Assists with the preparation of reports, presentations, and performance data for both internal leadership and external regulatory agencies
- Requires strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and hospital confidentiality policies, including secure storage, controlled access, and appropriate distribution of records
- Coordinating projects, trainings, and staff education initiatives related to HIM systems, as well as preparing agendas, recording minutes, and distributing follow-up action items for departmental meetings

Minimum Qualifications: Three years of experience in general office, clerical and administrative support work.
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: Persons hired must pass a law enforcement security clearance in compliance with policies of the Department of Aging and DisabilityServices. Must pass a criminal background check.
