Position Overview
The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire an Office Coordinator for the Elgin Mental Health Center located in Elgin, Illinois to perform secretarial duties for the Director of Nursing (DON). Performs a variety of complex and specialized, clerical, secretarial and office support functions including keyboarding a variety of complex & confidential material, word processing, data collection, filing and informational reporting. Develops complex word processing records and report applications. Organizes and maintains filing systems. Responds to office inquiries. Orders office supplies and performs routine office equipment maintenance and serves as timekeeper. Reviews and prioritizes correspondence for DON.
Essential Functions
- Performs secretarial duties for the Director of Nursing (DON).
- Reviews and prioritizes correspondence for DON.
- Opens, sorts, prioritizes and routes incoming mail.
- Utilizes a personal computer and a variety of computer software packages to gather information for report preparations and completion of duties.
- Serves as timekeeper.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college OR completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experience OR two (2) years of independent business experience.
- Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to utilize commonly used manual and automated office equipment and perform routine maintenance.
- Requires the ability to utilize computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office in the development of reports, etc.
- Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
