Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is recruiting for a Financial Technician to join our Administrative team in our District One office located in Coeur d’Alene, ID. This position could be the perfect career opportunity if you have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a fast paced, detail-oriented environment.

NOTE: This position requires a criminal record check.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with procedures, policies, regulations, and contracts.
• Prepare, reconcile and balance financial transactions;
• Communicate with personnel and vendors to resolve billing or invoicing errors/discrepancies, research, solve problems, and/or obtain information.
• Identify and correct errors and discrepancies;
• Maintain logs, ledgers and journals;
• Develop ad hoc reports, worksheets, spreadsheets and other financial documents;
• Analyze, research, forecast and reconcile complex financial documents;
• Ensure compliance with laws, rules, and policies.
• Coordinate travel for district employees.
• Communicate with the internal and external customers.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

• Researching and compiling financial information and preparing summaries and reports; using personal computers to enter, retrieve, and edit financial data.

Good Knowledge of:

• Financial Record Keeping.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent customer service and professionalism;
• Ability to learn quickly, take direction, work as part of a team, ask questions, and problem-solve;
• Organizational skills and accountability to meet deadlines;
• Proficiency in computer spreadsheets with attention to detail and accuracy;
• Working knowledge of accounting procedures;
• Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel;
• Reconciling, balancing and proofing financial data;
• Troubleshooting errors in automated accounting systems.
