What are the responsibilities and job description for the SURGERY COORDINATOR position at STATE OF FRANKLIN HEALTHCARE GROUP?

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule all surgeries for each physician ad document surgeries on surgery calendar
- Handle/Coordinate all paperwork, surgery consent forms, lab work, consults, etc.
- Handle patient financial responsibilities for the surgery
- Schedule all inductions and C-sections with labor and delivery
- Prepare all surgery documentation
- Contact the hospital surgery department to schedule, coordinate, and verify surgery times
- Handle pre-certification of benefits with each insurance company on a per-patient-basis
- Reschedule patient appointments to accommodate surgery schedules
- Counsel patients regarding the surgery process, answer any questions, and confirm that they understand
- Schedule patient referrals
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE:
Candidate is required to have six months of experience in surgery scheduling and superior computer experience. Knowledge of medical terminology and surgery procedures is preferred.
