What are the responsibilities and job description for the BREAST ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST position at STATE OF FRANKLIN HEALTHCARE GROUP?

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares patients for breast ultrasound services by explaining exam procedures and answering questions.
- Performs high-quality ultrasound exams following established procedures for patient care and safety.
- Logs breast ultrasound procedures completed and processes related paperwork or other requirements.
- Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, and pathology and equipment limitations.
- Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.
- Follows protocols and or physician-specific orders. Reviews prior images/reports/patient history as needed.
- Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.
- Performs routine and complex studies and assists the physician in a variety of imaging procedures.
- Participate in various teaching and mentoring of ultrasound technologists.
- Able to perform on all age groups from infant to adult/geriatric.
- Organizes processed images, measurements, calculations, and other data in a logical sequence for presentation to the physician for interpretation.
- Consults with the physician as applicable regarding the quality of images and data obtained.
- Performs ultrasound and other procedures on patients as directed by providers.
- Participates in invasive procedures related to breast pathology.
- Obtains and records all pertinent clinical information relating to the procedure.
- Ensures all required written and computer documentation, forms, and patient medical records are completed in a timely manner.
- Maintains ultrasound supplies and cleans equipment.
- Maintains ultrasound equipment. Orders and stocks all ultrasound supplies.
- Maintains department records, reports and files.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate of Science and/or Bachelor of Science degree in Radiology Technology and/or a graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Technology Program recognized by The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and/or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
EXPERIENCE:
Candidates must have a minimum of one year experience in sonography applications.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Registry or registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
- Certification in Breast Ultrasound preferred
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (if applicable)
