JOB SUMMARY:

This is a Tax Specialist I position in the General Tax Administration Program's, Taxpayer Services Process, Tax Information Section. The incumbent provides guidance on policies and procedures regarding laws, collection activities, and accounting principles from complex tax related inquiries to both internal and external customers. The incumbent also researches tax issues and laws and examines taxpayer accounts for compliance using the System for Unified Taxation (SUNTAX). Additionally, the incumbent provides training and assistance in several areas of taxation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.
  • Eighteen months of experience providing customer service that includes telephone or written communication.
  • Eighteen months of experience researching and resolving account issues in the System for Unified Taxation (SUNTAX) or CAMS.

SPECIAL NOTES:

  • The successful candidate will be required to answer a large volume of calls up to 7.5 hours a day.

SALARY: The hiring salary for this position generally will not exceed $3,881.92 monthly/$46,583.04 annually.
