The Medicaid Nurse II is a permanent, full-time position that is used by various agencies. Positions are located in Montgomery. This is
administrative and consultative nursing work in supervising specific activities in medical and nursing services programs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT(S)
• Current, permanent status as a Medicaid Nurse I (promotional register only).
• Master’s degree from an accredited* four-year college or university in Nursing.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited* four-year college or university in Nursing.
• Two years of professional nursing experience.
OR
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited* four-year college or university in Nursing.
• Three years of professional nursing experience.
OR
• Associate’s degree from an accredited* college or university in Nursing or diploma in Nursing.
• Five years of professional nursing experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT(S)
• Alabama Professional Nursing License as issued by the Alabama Board of Nursing; license number MUST be included on the application.
EXAMINATION
• Open-Competitive to all applicants and Promotional to current state employees in the job classification listed above.
• An Evaluation of Training and Experience as shown on application will comprise 95% of the applicant’s final score for the promotional
register, with the remaining 5% being based on the average of the applicant’s service ratings for the last three years. The Training and
Experience evaluation will comprise 100% of the final score for the open-competitive register.
