Job Summary

We are seeking a Fire Sprinkler Inspector/Service Technician to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing fire sprinkler systems to ensure they meet all safety standards, fire codes, and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards. Your expertise will help protect lives and property by ensuring fire suppression systems operate flawlessly when needed. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a top level provider for fire protection. Feel value for what you complete everyday. State Line is a fast growing company and looking for strong service techs to help the growing company. NICET is preferred but not required. Travel to St Louis and Kansas City is likely every month with advance notice.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards, building codes, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform system testing, including flow tests, alarm checks, and valve operations to verify proper functionality Per NFPA 25.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to sprinkler system components using troubleshooting techniques and electrical experience.
  • Install, modify, and repair fire sprinkler fittings, sensors, and proprietary fire alarm control panels utilizing hand tools and power tools.
  • Backflow Preventor License is required or must be obtained with in 2 months
  • Ensure compliance with all fire codes and regulations during inspections, repairs, and installations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by explaining system status, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols clearly to clients.
  • Document all work performed meticulously in service reports and logs for regulatory compliance and quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with construction teams during new installations or upgrades to ensure building code compliance and seamless integration of sprinkler systems.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a fire sprinkler inspector or service technician with a service technician background preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to low voltage systems, sensors, alarms, and proprietary control panels.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams, and CAD drawings accurately.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 13/25 standards related to sprinkler systems and fire alarm systems; knowledge of fire codes and regulations is essential.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, power equipment, and construction inspection techniques.
  • Knowledge of building code compliance requirements for fire suppression systems is required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot electrical work and engineering issues efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills for customer interactions and team collaboration.
  • Valid technical certifications or licenses related to fire protection systems are a plus but not mandatory.
  • Must have a clean driving record with no issues over the last 5 years.

Pay: $35.00 - $47.00 per hour
