Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Technician/Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems to ensure they meet all safety standards and building code requirements. Your expertise will help safeguard lives and property by ensuring fire alarm systems operate reliably and efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, collaborate with other department teams, and deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining compliance with NFPA standards and local fire codes. Responsibilities

  • Install, test, inspect, and service fire alarm systems, including proprietary fire alarm control panels.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical blueprints, and construction drawings to accurately execute system design plans.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, CAD software, and engineering troubleshooting techniques to diagnose issues and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients during system installation or upgrades to ensure proper integration with sprinkler systems and low voltage electrical work.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, system modifications, and compliance documentation for each project.
  • Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols such as NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and fire sprinkler fitting requirements.
  • Travel to different sites daily

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, sensors, proprietary control panels, schematics, and building code compliance.
  • NICET I or II preferred
  • Experience with Service Trade Preferred.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to sprinkler systems, low voltage wiring, electrical work, and fire codes such as NFPA standards.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment for field service tasks.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members.
  • Construction experience combined with service technician background is highly desirable for seamless project execution.

Pay: $35.00 - $41.00 per hour
