The State College YMCA is currently accepting applications for a part-time Gentle Yoga Instructor to coordinate and help provide safe and engaging yoga classes on Mondays at 11:10 AM. Each class is 1 hour long.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach scheduled class or find a sub in advance and communicate this to the Director if unable to teach.
- Report to class early enough to set up and socialize with class participants.
- Provide instruction and maintain safety during each class, continuously coaching class participants.
- Create an encouraging and exciting atmosphere, motivating participants to reach their fitness goals. Choose music that is appropriate for the YMCA.
- Put away all equipment used at the end of class and maintain equipment and supplies.
- Inform the Director when supplies run low or equipment is in need of maintenance.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous yoga experience/knowledge.
- Experience teaching yoga classes is helpful.
