MS SQL Developer- Only W2

Position: MS SQL Developer

Location: Pennington, NJ (Hybrid 3 days in office and 2 days remote)

Duration: 12-month contract (ext. up to 18 months)

Manager Notes:

• Must have “Strong SQL Server and SSIS experience. Heavy database developer and Tableau MicroStrategy is a big plus
• Looking for 7 years of experience (don’t want anyone too junior, but also don’t want anyone too senior)
• This is a very hands-on role
• Team player who can also work with an offshore team and work independently, must be creative and open to learning/problem-solving

Responsibilities:

• Develop/Maintain TSQL code
• Create the table structures and process data that is required to meet a critical reporting need within the technology group
• Financial technology management, integration of new solutions (like Cloudability), and potential performance improvements

Requirements:

• 7 years of full-time experience as MS SQL/TSQL Developer with stored procedures, views, triggers, cursors, tables and index creation
• 5 years of experience in MicroStrategy reporting or similar
• Experience with Autosys, BIDS/SSIS, TFS, C# and familiarity with object-oriented database design and development
• Experience in database and query optimization
• Familiarity with IT Infrastructure management domain
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Solid understanding of data architecture, efficient database design, writing complex queries and query tuning and troubleshooting
• Able to work independently with minimal guidance, in understanding requirements provided by Business Analysts and writing ETL programs to source data from upstream database systems as well as data sourced with various file formats such xml, csv, etc.
• MSSQL Server 2019 or higher
• SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
• SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)
• Knowledge of Bit Bucket
• Visual Studio 2019 or higher
• Experience writing complex queries and query tuning and troubleshooting
• Ability to write complex stored procedures, functions as well as support/enhance existing
• Ability to create/modify database schema, tables, indexes, etc.
• Knowledge of Indexes, cursors, triggers
• Experience working with partitioned tables and other database design patterns
• SQL Database backup, restore experience with working knowledge of log shipping, log mirroring
• SQL code optimization, tuning with ability to work with large datasets
• Extensive knowledge of Data transformation and validation
• ETL Processing (Autosys Preferred)

Desired skills:

• C# scripting
• Experience with Tableau or Microsoft-related tools
