- Develop, optimize, and standardize manufacturing processes for new and existing products
- Conduct DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly) analysis to improve product manufacturability
- Implement process flow, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Identify process bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve efficiency, yield, and throughput
- Provide day-to-day support for manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting equipment and process issues
- Collaborate with quality, production, and maintenance teams to resolve production problems
- Perform root cause analysis for defects, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence
- Support New Product Development by providing manufacturability input during design and prototyping
- Develop process plans, tooling requirements, and production validation for new products
- Conduct pilot builds and optimize production readiness before full-scale launch
- Implement lean manufacturing principles, Kaizen events, and cost-reduction initiatives
- Maintain metrics for production efficiency, yield, and quality improvements
- Recommend and implement automation or technology upgrades where appropriate
- Work closely with design engineers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product development and production
- Maintain and update technical documentation including SOPs, BOMs, and work instructions
- Assist in training production staff on new processes and equipment
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or a related Engineering discipline
- 3–5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment
- Experience with CAD/CAE software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and process simulation tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying shop conditions (heat, dust, noise)
- Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Experience with DFMEA/PFMEA and tolerance analysis
- Familiarity with prototype development and pilot production
- Ability to provide design-for-manufacturability feedback to design engineers
