What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Expeditor position at Starry Night Cafe?
Starry Night Cafe, located between Middlebury and Burlington, is looking for detail-oriented individual(s) to join our team as the expeditor / food runner. The responsibilities of the food expeditor include maintaining the flow of orders from waiters to the kitchen to diners, ensuring orders are completed quickly and correctly, assisting with the finishing touches on dishes, running food and conducting quality control on each dish. You will work in a fast-paced environment to get proper orders out quickly and more efficiently. You must have enough stamina to be in constant motion and skills to coordinate and organize processes and people.
Previous experience in a restaurant is ideal but we are always willing to train the right candidate. The ability to keep cool under stress and maintain excellent communication skills is important. This person(s) will be well organized with the ability to lead and direct people while accomplishing multiple tasks simultaneously. The expeditor is the conductor of the kitchen!
Schedule:
- Wednesday through Sunday shifts available
- 4:00 start time (perfect after school gig!)
(**We do our last seating at 8pm so there are no super late nights here!)
Pay: $18 an hour plus % tip out from FOH ($28-$33 an hour after tips)
