Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our legal team. In this role, you will provide essential legal support across a diverse range of practice areas, including estate planning, family law, criminal law, personal injury, property law and more. Your responsibilities will encompass litigation, court appearances, legal research, drafting legal documents, preparing for trials and depositions, and offering strategic counsel to clients. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using LexisNexis to support case strategies across various practice areas such as employment law, personal injury law, contract drafting, and litigation.
- Draft and review legal documents including contracts, motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and client correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Assist in trial preparation by organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, and coordinating witness depositions.
- Support attorneys in court depositions and courtroom proceedings by taking detailed notes and managing case files efficiently.
- Manage legal case files using case management software to ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather information, provide updates on case status, and explain legal options transparently.
Skills
- Proven experience in legal negotiation, motion preparation, litigation, and depositions.
- Excellent research skills utilizing LexisNexis platform for comprehensive case analysis.
- Exceptional writing skills for drafting pleadings, legal memoranda, contracts, and client communications.
- Familiarity with procedural law knowledge and general litigation processes.
- Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
- Abiilty to travel to courts throughout lower Michigan.
- Effective client communication skills with a professional demeanor that fosters trust and clarity.
- Previous law office experience combined with strong organizational skills in legal case management systems.
- Demonstrated capability in legal advocacy through research-driven strategies and persuasive writing skills.
