How You'll Contribute
A Monitor Technician who excels in this role:
- Under the supervision of an RN, this person performs telemetry monitoring.
- Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors for three nursing floors.
- Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
- Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient. physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Print out rhythm strips and deliver them to the appropriate nursing floor.
- Maintain rhythm logs.
- Test equipment for proper working order.
- Report any equipment problems to the supervisor.
- Review and comply with LifePoint Code of Conduct and all relevant company and division policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
- Handle with Care class must be completed with 6 months of hire/transfer.
