What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resource Assistant position at Starpoint?
The Human Resources Assistant will support Starpoint by recruiting, screening, and coordinating all new employees through the onboarding process, creating and updating job postings, managing outgoing correspondence, and scheduling and recording meetings. This position is vital to the smooth running of our agency and demands an organized, competent individual who can prioritize multiple tasks.
The Human Resources Assistant will create an atmosphere where employees feel welcome and leave with the most positive impression of Starpoint and the HR Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Onboarding:
- Manage the employment process, including recruitment, screening, interviewing, selection, offer letters, new hire orientation, and training.
- Processes all new hire paperwork, communicates status to supervisors and hiring managers, and maintains databases.
- Participates in recruitment effort and onboarding; processes new hire forms and paperwork.
- Responds to all general HR inquiries, audits, and requests.
Processes background checks; communicates status to supervisors; maintains clearance database. - Acts as Custodian of Records
Recruitment:
- Support sourcing, recruitment, and hiring of top talent.
- Mediate between hiring managers and candidates to coordinate/conduct interviews, referrals, and related business processes.
- Utilize various job boards, careers pages, and social media outlets to advertise and market open positions and upcoming vacancies.
- Organize and attend career fairs, virtual interviews, and other recruiting events.
- Facilitate open communication between the HR team and Program Managers.

QUALIFICATIONS
- One (1 ) plus years of office experience or knowledge of principles and practices of human resources
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work demands.
- Effectively operate and work with the latest standard office technology
- High level of discretion and confidentiality
- Experience with ATS or HRIS is a plus but not required.
- Must be able to work from the office and be at a desk for an extended period.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of one (1 ) plus years of experience in a Human Resources office is strongly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance as required by law
