Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team in providing high-quality behavioral health services. The Behavior Technician will work closely with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, to implement individualized treatment plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA). This role involves direct patient care, data collection, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support clients' growth and development. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of behavioral therapy, experience working with children and individuals with disabilities, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Duties
- Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions tailored to each client's needs, focusing on improving social, communication, and adaptive skills.
- Collect and record accurate data on client behaviors and progress during therapy sessions to inform treatment adjustments.
- Assist in conducting diagnostic evaluations and assessments as part of the intake process for new clients.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and behavioral records, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support clients during therapy sessions by providing patient care and ensuring a safe, supportive environment.
- Collaborate with clinicians, educators, and families to develop and modify individualized treatment plans based on ongoing assessments.
- Participate in training related to applied behavior analysis (ABA), special education strategies, and other relevant therapeutic techniques.
- Adhere to all confidentiality standards related to medical records and patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy principles and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Familiarity with data collection methods used in behavioral health settings.
- Background in special education or related fields is preferred.
- Ability to perform patient assessments and assist in diagnostic evaluations.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical documentation practices, and medical records management.
- Compassionate approach to patient care with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with people of all ages who have disabilities or behavioral health needs.
- Prior experience working within a behavioral health or clinical setting is advantageous.
