Concrete Finisher

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Concrete Foreman/Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality concrete finishing work on a variety of projects, including commercial, residential, and renovation sites. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life through precise finishing techniques, ensuring durable and visually appealing concrete surfaces. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects while honing your skills in concrete craftsmanship and construction processes. We are looking to employ an experienced concrete foreman/finisher to supervise our concrete laborers and oversee all activities relating to the erection of concrete flatwork installations. The responsibilities of the concrete foreman include managing and evaluating the performance of the concrete laborers, ensuring that project timelines and costs remain within budget and schedule. You should also be able to manage project materials and resources as well as oversee the use of equipment and tools.

Duties

• Smooth, level, and finish freshly poured concrete using hand tools such as trowels, floats, and edgers to achieve the desired surface texture and appearance
• Operate power tools including concrete mixers, pumps, and vibrating equipment to facilitate efficient pouring and finishing operations
• Install rebar reinforcement and formwork according to schematics and blueprints to ensure structural integrity of concrete elements
• Read and interpret construction blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute project specifications
• Perform heavy lifting and manual labor required for concrete placement, rebar installation, and site preparation
• Collaborate with carpenters, masons, welders, and other tradespeople to coordinate tasks on complex renovation or new construction sites
• Operate heavy equipment safely when necessary for concrete pumping or site preparation
• Maintain a clean work environment by properly handling hand tools and power tools while adhering to safety protocols
• Overseeing all activities pertaining to concrete preparation, placement, installation, finishing, and curing.
• Dividing concrete construction projects into different stages and evaluating how much labor and materials are required for each stage.
• Resolving all problems that may affect project quality and completion.
• Consulting drawings, plans, as well as customers and managements instructions to ensure that concrete structures are accurately placed and installed.
• Delegating tasks to concrete laborers and providing overall guidance.
• Maintaining accurate records of the number of hours worked and the number of materials used for each project.
• Inspecting concrete after the formwork and shoring has been removed to perform detail work to correct defects and concrete roughness.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and materials used in concrete finishing and related trades
• Proven experience with construction estimating processes for project planning and resource allocation
• Skilled in rebar installation, metal stud framing, masonry work, and framing carpentry techniques
• Expertise in concrete forming, pouring, finishing, and curing processes with attention to detail
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately for precise execution of tasks
• Familiarity with flooring installation, tile laying, roofing basics, and restoration techniques enhances versatility on-site
• Experience operating heavy machinery such as concrete mixers, pumps, forklifts or other heavy equipment safely
• Knowledge of safety standards related to construction sites including heavy lifting practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Capable of performing heavy lifting tasks regularly while maintaining physical stamina throughout shifts
• Strong communication skills for effective teamwork across various trades involved in complex projects

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
