Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Concrete Finisher. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming freshly poured concrete into smooth, durable surfaces that meet precise specifications and quality standards. Your expertise in concrete finishing techniques, and construction safety protocols will ensure the successful completion of various projects, including commercial, residential, and renovation sites.
Responsibilities
- Finish concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, and shaping freshly poured concrete using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Operate concrete mixers, pumps, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently to facilitate pouring and finishing processes.
- Install rebar and formwork according to construction plans to provide structural support for concrete elements.
- Perform concrete cutting, pouring, sealing, caulking, and trimming to achieve desired finishes and specifications.
- Setting forms that hold the concrete in place.
- Cleaning and inspecting surfaces for pouring issues.
- Directing the casting of the concrete with the truck driver.
- Monitoring the effects of the weather on the curing process.
- Applying sealing and hardening components.
- Safely operating power vibrator to ensure the concrete is compacted.
- Molding and constructing expansion joints using joiners and edging tools.
- Polishing surface using a power surfacing machine.
- Clean up worksites at the end of each day
- Follow all construction workplace safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe environment for yourself and team members.
Experience
- Proven experience working on construction projects with a focus on concrete finishing or related trades such as plastering or restoration.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of hand tools, power tools, heavy lifting equipment, and heavy machinery operation relevant to concrete work.
- Demonstrated understanding of construction site safety regulations including OSHA standards or equivalent safety protocols.
- Experience with rebar installation, formwork construction, concrete pumping systems, and metal stud framing is highly desirable.
- Expereince setting and installing retaining walls
