Job Responsibilities
- Review Fabrication Work Orders (FWOs) and verify carpet style, color, dimensions, and cutting layout before beginning work.
- Measure and cut carpet materials accurately using cutting tables, straight edges, knives, and specialized cutting equipment.
- Inspect materials for defects, shading variations, and backing integrity prior to cutting.
- Label all cuts with the appropriate style, size, serial number, and job reference information to ensure accurate production tracking.
- Verify all cuts match work order specifications, including nap direction, pattern alignment, and seam allowances.
- Handle luxury carpet rolls carefully to prevent damage, fraying, or contamination.
- Communicate material discrepancies or quality concerns to the supervisor or Quality Control team.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following company safety standards and 5S practices.
- Collaborate with Fabrication, Pad Prep, and Quality Control teams to support production goals.
- Record completed work in Factory Track or other production tracking systems.
- Assist with trimming, re-cutting, layout preparation, and other production tasks as needed.
- Experience in carpet or rug cutting, flooring installation, textile manufacturing, or a related production environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of measuring tools, cutting techniques, and material orientation.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, diagrams, and production specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality.
- Basic computer and scanner skills for production tracking and labeling.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Ability to kneel, squat, bend, push, and pull up to 50 pounds multiple times per day.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
