Lead Housekeeper — with Light Maintenance
Location: Wallace, ID (on-site) Schedule: 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., 5 days/week (hours may vary by occupancy); weekend/holiday’s a must. Status: 32 - 40 hours a week Compensation: $15.00/hr (experience-based; 90-day review)

Role Summary
The Lead Housekeeper is a working lead: you clean to standard, set pace and quality, coach teammates, and keep the day flowing. You support light maintenance, coordinate deep cleans, cross-train with the Front Desk, and report to the AGM as your manager, aligning on priorities and communicating updates regularly.
What You’ll Lead & Do
Daily operations & room readiness
- Lead the housekeeping team’s pace and quality during turns/refreshes; jump in as a working lead. Able to clean rooms, inspect, tend to laundry, and help out HK team as needed.
- Assign rooms and priorities; track progress; release rooms on schedule.
- Conduct quick QC inspections; fix small misses on the spot.
Deep cleans & projects (seasonal)
- Own deep-clean cadence (baseboards, vents, grout, fixtures); plan and track completion - follow Deep Clean checklists
- Assist with carpet/spot treatment and seasonal project work.
Light maintenance & coordination
- Replace bulbs/batteries, tighten loose hardware, minor touch-ups; report larger issues promptly.
- Update maintenance/housekeeping whiteboards (owner * due date * status); close the loop with notes/photos.
- Partner with Front Desk on RemoteLock items (low batteries, code issues) and verify function, train to replace locks
Front Desk cross-training (multi-tasking focus)
- Learn and support reservation systems (InnRoad, OTAs) and guest messaging (Akia) as needed.
- Provide polite, fast customer service at the desk during peak times or coverage gaps.
- Communicate room status changes promptly to maintain smooth arrivals/departures - this is a HK Lead tracking and making sure the HK team is changing over room status to inspection when done cleaning.
Common areas & grounds
- Keep lobby, hallways, laundry, and exterior tidy; end-of-shift carts and closets restocked and organized.
- Support seasonal tasks (leaves, snow shoveling/salting) for guest and team safety.
Safety & communication
- Send clear pass-downs so the next shift knows what’s done and what’s next.
- Help orient/train new housekeepers; provide friendly, timely coaching.
What Success Looks Like (how we measure the role)
- Room Quality: 95% pass on weekly inspections; zero critical health/safety misses.
- Timeliness: Rooms released on plan; average targets—~30 min standard clean, ~45 min full pull, 1–2 hrs deep clean (team average).
- Deep-clean cadence: 90% of scheduled deep cleans completed monthly; misses rescheduled within 1 week.
- Cart/closet readiness: Start-of-shift at par; end-of-shift tidy and restocked.
- Front Desk assist: Accurate, friendly guest support; timely status updates to reservations.
- Communication: Accurate statuses, clear pass-downs, maintenance items logged/closed with notes.
- Direct Supervisor is the AGM - follow policies & Check-lists GM & AGM have put into place. Communicate clearly with AGM
- Train new HK staff - lead and communicate clearly with team
Qualifications
- Experience: 1 years as a Lead Housekeeper and 3 years as a Housekeeper (required).
- Reservation systems & customer service experience are required. (InnRoad/OTAs/Akia a plus; will train on property specifics.)
- Proven attention to detail, steady pace, calm problem-solving, and ability to multi-task between floor support and desk coverage.
- Comfortable coaching peers with kindness and clarity.
- Basic fix-it ability (bulbs/batteries/hardware touch-ups).
Physical Requirements
Standing/walking most of shift; bending, kneeling, reaching; stairs/short ladders; lifting up to 50 lbs (linens/equipment). Reasonable accommodations available. PPE and tools provided.
