Lab Technician

Temporary

Compensation: $29.35 per hour

The ideal schedule is 7am-3:30pm. Must be available to work overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Performs sample preparations and extractions for chemical and/or microbiological samples.
• Conducts level appropriate chemical and/or microbiological analyses per established procedures.
• Enters sample identification into LIMS and ensures correctness of information and the number of samples per specification.
• Performs routine laboratory housekeeping duties including but not limited to organizing, cleaning, sample disposal and hazardous waste disposal.
• Completes level appropriate steps for laboratory proficiency tests.
• Effectively prioritizes analytical workload to ensure timelines are met for shipment.
• Required to perform other tasks as needed or assigned by management.
  
  

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education Level and Focus:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be strong in Chemistry
• 2 years prior laboratory work and/or QA/QC work experience or related college experience.
  
  

Skills And Abilities:

• Basic math (arithmetic), computer skills (MS Office), and data entry (10 key at 4,000 KPM) required. Understanding of HACCP, GMPs/GLPs and lab safety practices. Must be able to read/interpret product specifications. Requires use of computer, laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
  
  

Interpersonal And Communication:

• Must be able to communicate and maintain positive and effective working relationship within the laboratory to ensure samples are processed and cleared in a timely and accurate manner.
  
  

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, use stairs and industrial equipment.
