Compensation: $29.00 - $41.00 per hour (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee HVAC system installations for new commercial construction projects
- Coordinate with general contractors, project managers, and other trades to ensure proper system integration
- Participate in pre-construction planning to align installation timelines with project schedules
- Manage workflow to keep HVAC installation aligned with overall build progress
- Supervise installation of duct systems, piping, equipment, and controls according to project specifications
- Lead system startup and commissioning to verify proper performance before project completion
- Ensure all work meets local codes, safety standards, and industry regulations
- Direct and mentor installation crews, maintaining productivity and safety on site
- Track project progress, document changes, and report any issues encountered
- Monitor materials and ensure all necessary equipment is available when needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC installation, especially in new construction
- Proven experience leading crews and training junior team members
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical plans
- Knowledge of applicable building codes and safety requirements
- Experience coordinating with other trades (MEP environments)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet construction deadlines
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Problem-solving ability in active job site environments
- High attention to detail
- Valid driver's license with a clean record
Preferred Certifications
- EPA Certification
- Active HVAC license (as required by state/local regulations)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (preferred)
- Additional certifications such as NATE or manufacturer-specific training are a plus
