Summary
We’re hiring experienced CAD Specialists to join design and engineering teams across Tennessee. Candidates will produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings for civil, mechanical, architectural, or MEP projects, coordinate with engineers and field teams, and help move projects from concept to construction. Openings at junior and senior levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce, revise, and maintain detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or SolidWorks as required by project type.
- Convert field measurements, sketches, and survey data into construction-ready plans.
- Coordinate drawing sets and revisions with engineers, architects, project managers, and contractors.
- Prepare plan sets, legends, details, and title blocks that comply with company and client standards.
- Perform QA/QC on drawings to ensure dimensional accuracy, layer/naming consistency, and adherence to deliverable standards.
- Support BIM workflows, clash detection, and file exchange (DWG, DGN, IFC, PDF) where applicable.
- Maintain drawing templates, standard details, and CAD libraries.
- Occasionally assist with on-site measurements, markups, and coordination meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent experience in CAD, drafting, engineering technology, or related field.
- 2 years of professional CAD experience for junior roles; 5 years for senior roles.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D, Revit, or SolidWorks depending on discipline.
- Strong understanding of drawing production standards, scales, sheet layout, and annotation.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working with architects, engineers, and field staff to resolve design and constructability issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in civil/site design, piping, structural detailing, MEP coordination, or manufacturing depending on team.
- Familiarity with Georgia/Tennessee state and local CAD standards, utility plan conventions, and permitting deliverables.
- Ability to script or automate tasks (AutoLISP, Dynamo, macros) a plus.
- Experience with project control tools (Bluebeam, Navisworks, Procore) and basic knowledge of GIS or survey data formats.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) are advantageous.
