Stant is hiring for a Controls Engineer in the Connersville, Indiana area.

Controls Engineer Key Functions:
• Ensure production equipment, process control developments & designs meet specifications.
• Comply with all OSHA industrial safety standards and NEC
• Responsible for the redesign and debug of electrical and safety systems.
• Research and development on new electrical processes and knowledge of advanced programming methods.
• Integration of a variety of I/O devises such as photo eyes, proximity switches, plastic welding systems (ultrasonic, spin and hot plate), servo drives, test systems (Uson), vision systems (DVT), HMI’s and laser marking systems (Rofin, Fanuc, CLC and Domino).
• Develop and maintain standard methods and solutions for production equipment.
• Ensure new methods are formally integrated into Stant Industrial specifications.
• Collaborate with CMS Corporate Manufacturing Services team members and plant Manufacturing Engineers charged with the procurement of the equipment to understand the process and develop any special equipment requirements for error proofing, data collection, or cell integration.
• Participate in establishing and communicating machinery specification prior to quotation, including generation of the sequence of operations.
• Guide the activities of Stant machinery suppliers to ensure that the Stant control strategy is installed. This strategy shall be harmonious to the Stant design and construction guidelines.
• Maintain the required details- and data-oriented approach to manufacturing processes and machine/cell and facility control.
• Provide Controls Engineering input to all programs, product or process development, per APQP and other TS14969 processes.
• Assist in installation and upgrading of machinery based and facility based controls.
• Provide necessary training and support to plant personnel on equipment and systems and electrical safety; this includes OSHA industrial standards and NEC
• Assist in the design and construction to maintain the controls section of the machinery building specifications.
• Assist in the design and construction to ensure a common approach is used to solving machinery and or process selection problems.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action
• Work with the facilities controls department to ensure that methods of control are shared throughout all facilities.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline
• 3 years’ experience in manufacturing; preferably automotive industry
• 2 years’ experience performing electrical schematic design
• 2 years’ experience performing or assisting in electrical panel construction
• Proficiency in creating, maintaining and troubleshooting PLC’s (ladder logic); preferably Allen-Bradley and G&L
• Working knowledge of machining skills, welding technology, machine building, blueprint reading and precision measuring
