Position Overview
Stanley 1913 is seeking an exceptionally creative Senior Innovation Designer with a strong foundational background in industrial design to join our team ! You will collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and strategists to discover new opportunities and bring groundbreaking ideas to life. Members of our Innovation Team participate in every phase of the creative process, from research to user-centric craft advocacy. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Design Innovation and is based in Seattle, WA. Please include a portfolio showcasing innovation and early development design work. Storytelling is key and in our core workflow process. Join our team and help us build the future of our innovation products!
This role is required to be based in our Seattle, WA headquarters. Team members are expected to work onsite 2-3 days per week. If you're not currently located in Washington state and would require relocation, you would need to ideally relocate by the end of February 2026.

The base pay range for this position is for a successful candidate within the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on multiple factors such as work location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience.

$120,000—$150,000 USD

What You'll Do
- Champion detailed, strategic thinking principles and processes to build outstanding opportunities for product, brand, and business innovation.
- Rapidly and creatively ideate and visualize solutions to innovation opportunities.
- Work together with a diverse creative group to address problems from multiple viewpoints.
- Engage in focused research activities to identify actionable consumer insights through macro and micro cultural trends.
- Present findings, conclusions, and recommendations to the broader organization, including the Global Leadership Team.
- Represent and promote a culture of creativity and build while embodying our core values.
- Potentially travel for consumer insights trips to collaborate and capture valuable consumer interests.
- 8 years of experience as a practicing professional with a focus on industrial design positions.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Design or a related creative field.
- Portfolio examples that demonstrate expert-level innovative idea generation across multiple product categories through thoughtful, critical thinking and process.
- Keen understanding and foresight of future consumer and cultural trends.
- Outstanding visual and verbal storytelling talents, with a focus on swift concept sketching and storyboarding. Experience in web, UX/UI, and/or video is beneficial.
- Expertise in 3D CAD (Rhino or SolidWorks preferred), rendering software (KeyShot preferred), and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with generative AI tools like Vizcom or MidJourney is also a plus.
- Comfort passing ideas on to other designers for final execution.
- Enthusiasm for working together and engaging with individuals from various backgrounds, professions, and personalities.
- Continually seeking out new sources of creative inspiration and information.
- Experience in market and consumer research is a big plus.
- Experience at a creative agency or consultancy capacity helpful in working in a fast-paced environment like Stanley 1913.
