The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing customer service by maintaining, servicing, and repairing office equipment at customer locations throughout the Durant territory. This position reports directly to the appropriate Field Service Manager and plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while ensuring client equipment operates at peak performance.

Position Profile
The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing customer service by maintaining, servicing, and repairing office equipment at customer locations throughout the Durant territory. This position reports directly to the appropriate Field Service Manager and plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while ensuring client equipment operates at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities Service & Technical Support
- Perform on-site repair and maintenance of copier, fax, scanner, and multifunction equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve printing and non-printing issues.
- Provide outstanding support by meeting customer needs in a courteous and timely manner.
- Perform maintenance and repairs in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Utilize diagnostic tools, service aids, and product schematics to assess and resolve equipment and system failures.
- Maintain and expand technical knowledge through training classes and meetings.
- Refurbish used equipment, including cleaning, testing, and repairs.
- Perform equipment setup and installation at customer locations.
- Complete in-shop repair and maintenance of internal equipment.
- Complete in-shop setup and installation of equipment and accessories.
- Maintain proper parts inventory within assigned service vehicle.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Networking skills are a plus.
- Proficiency with PC and Microsoft applications.
- Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a good driving record required.
- Basic computer troubleshooting and support.
- Knowledge of office equipment repair and maintenance.
- Networking knowledge preferred.
- Ability to utilize diagnostic tools and technical documentation to resolve equipment issues.
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA A Certification
- Network certifications and/or related technical training
- Three to six months of related experience and/or training preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical school training preferred.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and various equipment, machinery, and power tools.
- Ability to repair, maintain, or monitor equipment and machinery where malfunctions could result in injury or property damage.
- Ability to operate, maintain, or oversee critical services and infrastructure, including electric, gas, water, power generation, and distribution systems.
- Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening.
- Standley Systems maintains federal contracts and complies with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988. Therefore, medical marijuana license holders who test positive for marijuana are not eligible for employment in this position.
- Frequent travel throughout the assigned service territory.
- Regular interaction with customers at their business locations.
- Exposure to office equipment, mechanical components, and service environments.
- Ability to work independently in both customer and shop settings.
