The Position
If you have experience working with design files and ensuring their accuracy before printing, this position may suit you. The Prepress Desktop Operator role requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, creative setting. In this position, you will be responsible for preparing files accurately and precisely, serving as a connection between customer requirements and the completed product.
What You’ll Do
- Review work orders, customer notes, and digital paperwork to understand project details.
- Check document sizes, margins, and colors; remove unused or extra colors.
- Ensure proper bleed allowances and make adjustments as needed.
- Confirm fonts and graphics process correctly; troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Prepare files to refine/RIP correctly and create press impositions.
- Output proofs for review and save final pages as PDFs for the correct workflow.
- Process files through Prinergy and resolve errors as needed.
- Partner with CSR, Preflight, Job Planner, and other team members to ensure a smooth production process.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Experience with Prinergy Workflow (a plus).
- Solid mathematical skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
