Arlo Kitchen & Bar is looking for a talented Chef de Cuisine. We are looking to add experienced, passionate, team oriented staff to our newest venue located in Northport, NY. This new location provides a refreshing twist on fine dining while using only the freshest locally sourced ingredients for our menus. This new design was meticulously curated to compliment the natural themes and motif of the woods and hills of Northport while providing excellent hospitality paired with Prime steaks and chops, House made pasta while enjoying your favorite seasonal cocktail.
The Chef is at the forefront of culinary hospitality. This role serves as the acting Head Manager when the Chef de Cuisine is not on the restaurant premises. This role directs, implements, and maintains the culinary and management philosophy, which serves as a guide to respective staff. The ideal candidate possesses:
- 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef
- Highly developed knowledge of various culinary styles and mastery of all line level cooking stations.
- A professional and polished approach to leadership.
- Manage the expo line, Assist with preparation, including some butchering of fish and meat- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Food Protection Certified
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel)
- Must possess the necessary administrative skills required for responsibilities such as inventory and ordering
- Knowledge and experience working in the pastry department
- Strong organization skills and attention to details
- Strong decision-making abilities-
- Positive demeanor and passion for the food industry
