Responsibilities
- Perform transmission removal, installation, and reassembly with precision, adhering to manufacturer specifications and safety standards
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools and schematics to identify issues across various vehicle systems
- Repair and maintain engines, powertrain components, and electrical systems on a variety of vehicles including passenger cars and diesel engines
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and mechanical repair techniques to execute repairs efficiently
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical issues accurately
- Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks such as alignments, wheel balancing, and heavy lifting operations using appropriate manual handling techniques
- Ensure all repairs meet quality standards while providing excellent customer service by explaining findings and repair options clearly
Skills
- Proven dealership or automotive repair experience with a strong mechanical background
- Knowledge of automotive engine systems, including diesel engine repair and automotive engine technology
- Familiarity with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration and diagnostics
- Ability to read and interpret automotive schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Skilled in the use of automotive diagnostic tools and understanding of vehicle systems such as electrical wiring, powertrain, and body components
- Experience with auto body repair techniques including welding and alignment procedures
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by proficiency in hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
- Excellent manual handling skills for heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently
- Customer service orientation with clear communication skills to explain technical issues to clients effectively
