What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Medical Coder (CPC/ CCC/ CIRCC/ CCVTC/ CPMA/ COBGC) position at Stalking Horse LLC?
- Access the EHR, review the documentation and verity appropriateness/completeness.
- Code directly from the documentation and input appropriate CPT and ICD-10-CM codes into EHR to prepare for billing.
- Specialty areas include: Primary Care, Wound Care, Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Interventional Cardiology, Outpatient Facility-Based Cardiology procedures, Electrophysiology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Risk Adjustment.
- Verify that assignment of International Classification of Diseases (ICD), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT and Health Common Procedural Coding (HCPC)) codes are compatible and accurate by using reference materials to include coding manuals and correct coding initiatives.
- Submit requests to the health center and/or provider for missing information needed to complete the coding. Once information is returned, complete coding.
- Interact in a professional demeanor.
- Maintain HIPAA standards at all levels of interaction.
- Review and work coding-based denials.
Knowledge, Experience & Certification:
- CPC certification required. Additional certifications such as CCC, CIRCC, CCVTC, CPMA, COBGC, and/or CPMA preferred.
- Working knowledge of medical billing systems like Medicare and Medicaid.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
