Role Description The Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Greensboro, NC, responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for underground utility and waterworks projects. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing project plans and specifications, analyzing material requirements, and obtaining pricing from suppliers and manufacturers. The Estimator will prepare detailed proposals and bids, collaborate closely with sales, operations, and project teams, and clarify project scope with customers and internal stakeholders. This role also involves maintaining up-to-date pricing and product knowledge, tracking bid status and outcomes, and supporting customer service by responding to inquiries regarding estimates and project requirements. The Estimator will contribute to process improvements and help ensure that bids are competitive, compliant, and aligned with company standards.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and numerical skills, including the ability to interpret blueprints, project specifications, and technical documents.
• Experience with estimating in construction, utilities, or waterworks, or transferable experience in related fields such as distribution or infrastructure.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, estimating software, and general office productivity tools.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present estimates clearly and collaborate with internal teams and customers.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines concurrently.
• Ability to work on-site in Greensboro, NC, and collaborate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of underground utility products, water distribution systems, or similar technical domains is highly beneficial.
• Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
