Job Summary
We are looking for a Business Development Representative to drive new growth for our commercial building technology solutions. This role is focused on prospecting and setting qualified meetings with property managers, contractors, and business owners.
Our core offering is advanced surveillance systems, supported by enterprise Wi-Fi solutions, access control, and audio-visual systems. You will work closely with the sales team to identify and pursue opportunities with higher-liability commercial clients—E.g. car dealerships, large fitness centers, manufacturing facilities, and similar environments where robust security and scalable infrastructure are critical. This role will focus on targeted outreach to help expand our footprint in these commercial segments.
This role primarily covers the Boston area through the North Shore, offering a broad and growing commercial territory. Within this larger region, you will have the opportunity to focus on and take ownership of a specific geographic footprint, allowing you to build deeper relationships and a strong presence in your designated area.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify potential commercial clients through independent prospecting and internal collaboration (databases, online tools, referrals, and field research)
- Execute outreach through cold calls, email campaigns, and in-person visits
- Consistently meet activity and performance metrics (calls, outreach volume, and qualified meetings set)
- Qualify leads and schedule meetings for senior sales team members
- Maintain accurate records of all prospecting activity in CRM
- Collaborate with the sales team to refine messaging and outreach strategies
- Attend local networking events, job sites, and industry functions as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- 1–3 years of experience in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles
- Comfortable with cold outreach and self-driven prospecting
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to quickly learn and confidently communicate technical solutions at a conversational level
- Experience in security, technology, construction, or commercial services is a plus (not required)
- Highly motivated, accountable, and results-driven
