Dispatched from home and assigned to a regional office. You can work from anywhere due to our nationwide footprint and your personal vehicle can stay in the driveway.

  • We have opportunities for bright, energetic, Data Technicians for our local Cincinnati, OH team.
  • We are looking for two people to work a local assignment in Erlanger, KY for approximately 6 months. They will need to drive their personal vehicle to and from the jobsite daily, going home every night.
  • At the end of this project, normal travel will be required and a company vehicle will be provided.

At Staley, we maintain a constant focus on two things, ensuring safety in all we do and exceeding client expectations. This position requires that you are very responsible and a self-starter with great communication skills. These attributes are key to success with Staley, especially our Technicians in the field who have to work with managers and coworkers to coordinate work schedules, tools and materials. Although the location of your home residence is not critical to the role, the positions will require that you travel. While out of town trips are often shorter in duration, our company moves very quickly and you must be ready to dispatch as quickly. Our customer base requires that we are very flexible, so typical work shifts could include days, nights, weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Install fiber optic and copper cabling in retail/commercial, industrial and warehouse settings
  • Terminate copper and fiber optic cabling
  • Identify circuits and connect to network equipment
  • Configure network addresses
  • Installation of CCTV camera systems, including network video recorders, indoor and outdoor cameras
  • Installation of door access control systems, including magnetic locks, electronic strikes, request to exit devices and system software/hardware
  • Installation of audio/video equipment, including TV’s, speakers, projectors and system software/hardware
  • Test cable and ensure accuracy of cable testing, documentation, and storage
  • Test, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with cable faults
  • Terminate and dress communications closets according to BICSI standards
  • Perform cabling and phone Moves, Adds or Changes (MAC)
  • Perform troubleshooting of network hardware and implement appropriate solutions
  • Manage time, material and people resources throughout project lifecycles
  • Manage work orders, sign-offs, daily log/journal and other project documentation

Qualifications for Data Technicians

  • Must have aptitude for technology and working with your hands
  • Desired qualifications include three years industry experience
  • BISCI or other industry certifications strongly preferred
  • PC proficiency, Microsoft office applications
  • Must demonstrate the highest standards of ethics and integrity
  • Strong client/people relationship skills
  • Meet company standards for pre-employment background check and drug screening, including an acceptable driving record
  • Typical physical demands include frequent work on various lifts, ladders, rooftops and other harder-to-access areas
  • Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with employees and/or clients; manual dexterity required for frequent reaching, climbing and lifting of objects (typically up to 50 lbs.), and operating power tools
  • Must have industry standard hand tools
