Duties
- Assist lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate educational activities focused on literacy, math, and early childhood development.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a structured environment that encourages positive behavior and social skills.
- Provide one-on-one mentoring and tutoring to children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or autism, ensuring they receive personalized attention.
- Help supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and transitions to promote safety and well-being.
- Engage children in activities that develop fine motor skills, communication skills, and foundational literacy and numeracy.
- Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress, document observations, and contribute to individualized learning plans.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials while adhering to health and safety standards.
Skills
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Experience working with children in classroom or childcare settings.
- Knowledge of special education strategies, behavior management techniques, and working with individuals with disabilities or autism.
- Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to proofread instructional materials and assist in tutoring across subjects such as literacy education and math.
