What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cheese Production Shift Lead position at Stainless Technologies, LLC?
We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Cheese Production Shift Lead to oversee daily cheesemaking operations, ensure product quality, drive team performance, and maintain compliance with safety and food safety standards. This role is responsible for coordinating staff, troubleshooting process issues, and ensuring smooth operation across vats, tables, whey systems, and packaging.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support production operators across all cheese room functions
- Monitor Milk HTST, Milk UF, Milk separation, cook steps, cut times, salting, packaging, and whey separation
- Ensure documentation accuracy (batch sheets, QA checks, CIP records)
- Maintain compliance with SQF, HACCP, PMO, and safety programs
- Coordinate with quality & maintenance
- Support whey handling and separation
What We're Looking For:
- 2 years cheese manufacturing or dairy plant experience
- Strong understanding of cheesemaking processes
- Leadership or lead-operator experience preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends & holidays as needed
