SUMMARY

Formulate quotations to be submitted to customers.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Estimates labor and materials (casting, machining) and outside service costs.
  • Read blueprints
  • Calculate weights from drawings
  • View and manipulate 3D models
  • Contact with customers, including engineering and purchasing professionals, on all perspective and new projects
  • Configure mounting and rigging design
  • Solicits quotes from outside services.
  • Prepares and forwards estimates to customers.
  • Maintains quotation files.
  • Works with engineering & customers on casting design.
  • Assists order entry personnel in entering new casting and machining orders.
  • Coordinate/communicate with customer for updates, explanation, and requirements regarding quotations, details, and work
  • Train new employees regarding job expectations and procedures.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
