Job Description:
Stage Right Theatrical Institute is seeking a skilled, passionate acting instructor to join our team for Fall 2026 as we expand into a pre-professional conservatory training model.
We are building a high-level program for young performers (ages 8-17) focused on developing confident, expressive & technically strong triple threat artists. Our students train in an environment that reflects the expectations of the professional industry, with opportunities to work alongside Broadway directors, casting professionals & NYC-based creatives.
Position Overview:
We are looking for an acting instructor who can train students beyond the basics - helping them develop truthful performances, strong storytelling instincts & a deeper understanding of character work.
Classes may include:
- acting techniques
- scene study / script work
- acting through song
- audition technique (monologues song work)
- improv / confidence building (for younger students)
This role is ideal for someone who values both discipline & creativity and can guide students in a way that is both challenging & encouraging.
Responsibilities:
- teach weekly acting classes across varying age groups & levels
- develop structured, engaging lesson plans that build skill progressively
- help students connect emotionally to material & make strong, specific choices
- prepare students for auditions, performances & industry expectations
- maintain a professional, focused & supportive classroom environment
- collaborate with the Stage Right team on student development & productions
Qualifications:
- strong background in acting training and/or professional performance
- experience teaching children and teens (ages 8-17)
- ability to communicate technique clearly while fostering confidence
- alignment with a pre-professional, high-expectation training environment
- organized, reliable & team-oriented
Preferred (but not required):
- professional theater, film or TV credits
- experience in musical theatre training
- directing or coaching experience
- familiarity with audition preparation and industry standards
Schedule:
classes will run Monday-Thursday afternoons and evenings as part of our fall programming
