The Systems Engineer will play a key role in maintaining system reliability, supporting operational excellence, troubleshooting complex issues, and contributing to platform modernization initiatives within a dynamic, mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for production applications, platforms, and infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance, respond to alerts, and ensure operational stability and availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, platform, and application-related issues.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Execute system patching, upgrades, maintenance, and post-implementation validation activities.
- Support application deployments and release management processes.
- Perform system health checks, log analysis, and operational monitoring.
- Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and scripting initiatives.
- Assist with cloud, container, virtualization, and operating system administration.
- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement and platform modernization efforts.
- Participate in on-call support rotations as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, Platform Engineering, or a similar role.
- Experience supporting enterprise production environments and mission-critical systems.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, including AWS.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Rancher, container technologies, and virtualization platforms.
- Experience administering Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools such as Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, incident management, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and observability platforms.
- Understanding of ITIL processes and service management frameworks.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud and large-scale distributed environments.
