Job Title: Technical Sales Engineer
Location: Kansas City Area (Hybrid/Field-Based)
About the Role:
We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to support industrial automation and manufacturing clients across the Kansas City region. This role combines engineering knowledge with customer relationship management and technical solution selling. The ideal candidate will work closely with manufacturers, OEMs, system integrators, and industrial clients to recommend automation solutions that align with operational and process requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and grow new customer accounts through networking, prospecting, and market engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, engineering teams, OEMs, utilities, and system integrators
- Provide technical consultations and recommend suitable automation hardware and software solutions
- Prepare quotations, assist with order management, and support technical documentation requirements
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations tailored to customer applications
- Travel within the assigned territory to support customer engagement and account development
- Stay updated on industrial automation technologies, controls systems, and emerging industry trends
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related technical discipline
- Experience working with industrial automation products such as PLCs, VFDs, HMI/SCADA systems, industrial networking, motion control, or industrial software
- Exposure to manufacturing, process automation, or controls engineering environments
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to customers
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and support multiple customer engagements effectively
- Prior technical sales, applications engineering, or customer-facing engineering experience is preferred
