📍 Remote (90%) | Based near Knoxville, TN preferred | Travel ~10%

💰 $65K–$85K annually

Looking to put your grants and proposal skills to work on projects that actually matter? We're looking for someone to join a research and innovation organization in Knoxville, TN, helping coordinate proposals tied to federal agency funding.

A day in this role looks like:

You'll be the glue holding proposal timelines together — breaking down what a funding opportunity actually requires, building out a schedule, and keeping internal teams and outside partners on track to hit submission deadlines. You'll review documents for compliance, sit in on go/no-go decisions, and help translate federal funding rules into plain terms for the people who need to act on them. You'll also work closely with finance and program teams to make sure budgets and scopes of work are lined up before anything goes out the door.

You'd be a great fit if you have:

✔️ A bachelor's degree (or higher) in any relevant field

✔️ At least 3 years working in proposal coordination or management

✔️ A knack for staying organized when juggling several deadlines at once

✔️ Some familiarity with OMB Uniform Guidance, FAR, or similar federal/grant compliance rules

✔️ Comfort working independently in a remote setup, with occasional in-person collaboration

✔️ Solid Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)

✔️ A valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally (with the rare overnight)

Bonus points for:

Experience with government agencies, universities, or nonprofit/research institutions, especially anyone who's worked around DOE or defense-related funding streams.
