Position Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Assistant with a focus on Accounts Receivable (AR) to join their growing finance team in Knoxville. Key Responsibilities
Process customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner
Set up and maintain project records in the accounting system
Provide administrative support, including document management (filing, scanning, copying)
Maintain integrity of the accounting database by ensuring up-to-date and accurate entries
Assist in generating monthly customer statements and managing W-9 and Certificate of Insurance (COI) documentation
Perform routine data entry and assist with reconciliations as needed
Collaborate with other departments to support billing and collections functions
Qualifications
1–3 years of accounting experience, with direct exposure to accounts receivable preferred
Associates or Bachelors in accounting or related field preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams and external partners
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience with Deltek is a plus
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
A self-starter with a willingness to learn and take initiative
