StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a premier aerospace manufacturing organization to identify a dynamic and hands-on operational leader for their specialized production facility in Sylmar, California. In this critical role, you will champion the evening operations as a second-shift leader, driving manufacturing excellence, robust safety protocols, and peak quality performance. Acting on behalf of our client partner, StaffRight Associates is seeking a professional dedicated to motivating personnel, optimizing throughput, and embedding continuous improvement into daily fabrication processes.
What You’ll Do
Lead and mentor a dedicated shift of production personnel engaged in the fabrication and processing of sophisticated aerospace materials.
Equip manufacturing personnel with the required resources, tooling, and strategic support necessary to achieve daily output benchmarks.
Drive shift-level productivity goals, enforce operational discipline, and cultivate high levels of employee engagement on the production floor.
Champion a culture of safety, ensuring a secure and compliant work environment across all manufacturing footprints.
Synthesize cost-control strategies by rigorously monitoring material utilization and managing overtime allocations.
Evaluate, counsel, and deliver performance management reviews for shop-floor personnel to support professional development and accountability.
Maximize operational efficiency by leading 5S initiatives and proactively identifying and eliminating process waste.
Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional supervisors and department heads to surpass overarching corporate milestones.
Align shift activities with rigorous client demands across critical metrics, including product quality, timely delivery, expenditure management, and inventory precision.
Govern daily plant operations effectively while maintaining stringent Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and baseline manufacturing protocols.
Embed Lean Manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement frameworks into the fabric of daily shift operations.
What You Bring
Required Status: Valid United States Citizenship, Permanent Residency ()
Availability: Absolute commitment to a stable second-shift schedule (Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM), with flexibility for occasional weekend coverage.
Education & Leadership Tenure: A Bachelor''s Degree paired with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, OR a High School Diploma paired with 3 years of proven manufacturing leadership.
Professional Experience: Proven background operating within a complex Manufacturing Environment.
Supervisory Skillset: Advanced expertise in People Leadership, Employee Engagement, Performance Management, and Personnel Coaching.
Operational Command: Demonstrated ability to manage Production Coordination, Shift Work, and high-stakes operational KPIs.
Financial Stewardship: Strong acumen in Cost Control, Material Usage, and Overtime Management.
Methodologies & Frameworks: Deep familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S Principles, Continuous Improvement, and Production Processes.
Preferred Industry Credentials: Prior experience within Aerospace Manufacturing is highly advantageous.
Preferred Technical Exposure: Direct experience navigating AS9100 Quality Standards, participating in Kaizen Events, or contributing to formal Lean Initiatives.
Compensation & Total Rewards
Annual Base Salary: $85,000 – $92,000
Additional Incentives: Performance-based bonus structure.
