Job Summary And Purpose
The Assistant Director of Staffing is responsible for ensuring the staffing team provides excellent support and service to hiring managers and job candidates. The Assistant Director is also responsible for aligning the work of the staffing team with other functions within HRTD such as recruitment and professional learning, as well as with teams within the Office of Finance and Operations.

Education Attainment (Required):
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required; Master’s degree and/or concentration in education, business, human resources, or a related field preferred.

Job Summary And Purpose
The Assistant Director of Staffing is responsible for ensuring the staffing team provides excellent support and service to hiring managers and job candidates. The Assistant Director is also responsible for aligning the work of the staffing team with other functions within HRTD such as recruitment and professional learning, as well as with teams within the Office of Finance and Operations.
Work Objectives/Essential Functions
- Provides vision, leadership, and planning to staffing team to ensure proper and efficient processing for hiring, onboarding, and exiting of personnel.
- Fosters and maintains positive relationships with division wide leadership to ensure effective staffing processes.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the staffing team by providing overall prioritization of team assignments and management of resources and activities.
- Manages staffing allocations based on the adopted and funded staffing standards and ensures consistent communication of practices implementing those standards, including the process for exceptions.
- Ensures staffing complies with relevant laws and policies, including the Fair Labor Standards Act, state licensure requirements, and adopted staffing standards and other approved positions.
- Adopts, communicates, and administers business rules for customer service towards hiring managers and candidates.
- Participate in and/or coordinate administrator hiring processes as assigned.
- Generates regular reports on staffing status for internal management and to share with the Superintendent and School Board as directed.
- Works with other HRTD staff to adopt and update data systems and procedures that support efficient hiring operations.
- Coordinates with HRTD staff responsible for recruitment to ensure accurate vacancy and priority information.
- Leads analysis of staffing trends to inform division policies and recruitment strategies.
- Attends job fairs and school specific recruiting events as directed by the Chief Talent Officer.
- Conducts regular audits with the Department of Finance and Budget to align filled and advertised positions with authorized position allocations.
- Reviews and communicates rules regarding special staffing assignments with schools, the staffing team, and the Department of Payroll and Benefits to ensure accurate payment for staff assuming additional duties.
Education Attainment (Required):
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required; Master’s degree and/or concentration in education, business, human resources, or a related field preferred.

- Experience as a school administrator or seven (7) or more years of experience in K-12 school staffing required.
Industry Licensure or Certifications (Required):
Industry Licensure Or Certifications (Preferred)
SHRM-CP or comparable Human Resources certification preferred.
