Job Duties
- Support aerospace manufacturing operations by ensuring products meet customer, regulatory, and quality requirements.
- Perform detailed product inspections using engineering drawings, specifications, mylars, sketches, and tooling documents.
- Conduct dimensional, hardness, conductivity, and mechanical inspections to verify product compliance.
- Generate AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports and maintain accurate quality records.
- Review internal documentation against customer requirements and industry standards.
- Inspect mechanical assemblies for functionality, safety, and quality compliance.
- Collaborate with production teams, communicate quality concerns, and proactively maintain inspection resources.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Complete additional quality assurance and inspection responsibilities as assigned.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Additional training or certifications in Aerospace Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Inspection, or Mechanical Systems are a plus.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in aerospace quality control, quality inspection, or aerospace manufacturing environments.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Proficiency creating AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, scales, protractors, and inspection gauges.
- Experience with CAD/CAM, CNC programming, CMM operation, DPD, and MBD is preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and quality documentation systems.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Capable of bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, and performing repetitive movements.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds with assistance or appropriate equipment.
- Must possess full use of hands and arms for inspection and measurement activities.
- Requires close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus as needed.
