Director of Rehabilitation (DOR)

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Rehabilitation Director specializing in Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) settings to lead our multidisciplinary therapy team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality physical, occupational, speech-language pathology, and therapy services. Your leadership will ensure the seamless coordination of patient care, compliance with regulatory standards, and the achievement of excellent clinical outcomes. Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the therapy department, including Physical Therapists (PT), Physical Therapist Assistants (PTA), Occupational Therapists (OT), Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA), Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP), and support staff.
• Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive rehabilitation programs tailored to meet each patient’s needs and recovery goals.
• Ensure all therapy services comply with federal, state, and local regulations as well as facility policies.
• Collaborate closely with nursing staff, physicians, and administrative teams to coordinate patient care plans and discharge processes.
• Provide ongoing supervision, mentorship, and performance evaluations for therapy staff to promote professional growth.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, therapy sessions, and departmental activities in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and operational efficiency within the therapy department.

Experience

• Proven leadership experience in a SNF or similar long-term care setting managing multidisciplinary therapy teams.
• Strong knowledge of rehabilitation protocols across physical, occupational, speech-language pathology disciplines.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements from agencies such as CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) and state licensing boards.
• Excellent communication skills to foster teamwork and build relationships with staff, patients, families, and external partners.
• Prior experience in program development, staff supervision, and quality assurance is highly preferred.
