Mold Technician

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Mold Technician to join our plastics manufacturing team in South Elgin. This position is responsible for setting up molds on plastic injection molding machines and supporting daily manufacturing operations. Candidates with any machine operating experience are encouraged to apply. This is a physically demanding role that requires lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and working both independently and as part of a small team.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and change molds on plastic injection molding machines.
• Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient production.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively during mold setup and maintenance.
• Support daily manufacturing operations involving plastic materials and products.
• Handle, package, trim, assemble, and label plastic products.
• Perform visual quality inspections to ensure products meet company standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Work collaboratively with teams of 2–3 employees or independently as needed.
• Follow all company safety policies and production procedures.
  

Qualifications

• Previous machine operating experience required (plastic injection molding experience is a plus but not required).
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and attendance record.
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Comfortable climbing ladders while handling large mold components.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
• Capable of working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and production equipment.
